Happy 31st Birthday to my Mr. Darcy

Nate always acts embarrassed but I know that he's secretly flattered when people compare him to the delicious Mr. Darcy from Jane Austin's, Pride and Prejudice.

I don't know if it's a physical comparison or the "mysterious" vibe that just oozes out of these men, whatever it is, goodness me...I can't breath.
Personally, I'm a bigger fan of this Darcy:

No matter, the point of this post is to tell my Mr. Darcy "Happy Birthday" and that I love him even though he won't ever read this (he's anti-blog). And I don't hold it against him that he doesn't wear those sexy pants or have a 10,000 pounds a year...

Nate has been "maturely" excited that the 25th anniversary of the GI Joes has released the toys he remembers playing with as a kid.
I thought that it would be fun to make him a GI Joe cake.
Below is the picture of Nate's cake, my mental image of how wonderful Nate's cake would be wasn't quite followed by my actually, physical artistic ability. I think it looks more like a Rainbow Bright cake than a manly GI Joe cake....oh, well. You can't win them all, maybe he would be just as excited if Rainbow Bright came out with a 25th anniversary doll.

Wow! You did a great job on Nate's cake. I hope he liked it. Tell the birthday boy I said happy birthday and he's my favorite person named Nathan!

i LOVE that cake, and the description of his "mature" excitement about g.i. joe. ain't no shame in loving those joes. and now that you've pointed out the correlation between Nate and Mr. Darcy, i have to find a new movie-star boyfriend. thanks alot. you are such a sweet wife and since you can't be my wife, i'm glad you're Nate's.
