Darby was a beautiful newborn. admit it now! to be honest, Darby and Kacey are the only newborns i've ever thought were cute, so i'm with you on that whole thing. congratulations on your little nephew, and give the kid a break---that picture was taken immediately after a very long and traumatic experience. i know pictures of me after my very long and traumatic experience (71 hours of labor with Darby)are not Cosmo material! i can't wait until you have a baby. she or he will be beautiful! i remember when i was pregnant, i asked Aramie if my baby came out ugly, would she tell me the truth? she said she wouldn't want to, but that she would. i saw that gorgeous baby and i didn't even have to ask! so, i'll tell you if your babies are ugly, but between you and Nate, how could they be?

Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog...I'm always open to advice (especially at this crazy time) My hubby was in Iraq when our daughter was born...I sent him a picture with my cell phone and he called almost immediately to tell me that she looked like, 'a boiled monkey'....LOL lovely image right? Anyway, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. And, Congrats on your new nephew! Before long, we'll be reading about how he's stolen your heart and wont give it back! ;-)
Congrats, Auntie Haley! Yeah, very few newborns look great when they make their debut into this world. Mine were gorgeous, of course. You don't have to call the poor little guy ugly, though. It's just his "awkward phase." Better to have it now than in his teenage years (though, let's be honest, it will happen then, too).
I didn't know Captain was in the National Guard. Poor Leslie!
Congratulations Aunt! Pretty soon he will be as cute as my niece and nephew (they weren't cute when they were tiny either, don't tell their moms I said that.) My first looked like a conehead for about a week after his 24 hour labor and delivery. I won't even attemp to describe how horrible I looked!
